Primary School Library Training Courses

Our school courses are packed with interactive learning which you can do at home. You can read through everything, reflect on your own experience, view slideshows of examples and build your display skills by putting book covers on virtual shelves. The practical tasks at the end of each course ask you to try out activities with students in the library so those will have to wait until schools re-open. But you could take the time now to plan how you might use them when you go back. There are great activities for different age-groups, supported by attractive print materials you can download. You could have a lot of fun planning how to use these in your own school. You’ll then be ready to jump in with fresh ideas to engage your students right away and re-establish your library at the heart of the school!

Courses are not time-limited so you can drop in and out as suits your circumstances.

Becoming a reading role model

Research shows that keen adult readers are powerful role models and this can markedly influence young people’s commitment to reading. Understanding yourself as a reader will help you take the children you work with on a similar journey. Our promise is that it will be entertaining as well as enlightening and very different from any other kind of training course about books and reading you may have encountered before.
